Welcome to SVSTI serving San Jose, Milpitas, Bay Area, Northern CA, Central Coast. We are delighted you have chosen our facility and the Sterile Processing and/or the Surgical Technology Program as you begin your journey into the fascinating field of medicine.

SVSTI offers blended programs for Sterile Processing & Surgical Technology. In a blended program students will be face to face on campus and utilize hands on learning for core competencies in combination with our online course platform approximately 320 instructional hours for Sterile Processing and approximately 1600-1900 instructional hours for Surgical Technology. Campus-based instruction includes competencies, applications, laboratories, and externship. Online courses require a commitment to substantial independent study along with the access and participation of the platform.
The online learning platform is accessible 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The course syllabus, material, assignments, participation post, and email will be through this online platform.
Students are required to have sufficient technology and internet skills & access to complete online coursework successfully.
The Student Success/ library is available onsite during regular business hours. The virtual library and other web-based resources will provide students with a comprehensive learning experience that enables them to master the course content outlined on the syllabus. SVSTI does not guarantee job placement however, we do provide clinical placement as part of the curriculum which may lead to professional placement.

SVSTI does not participate in the Student and Exchange Visitor Program to provide Visa services or vouch for student immigration status. SVSTI does not offer English as a Second Language (ESL) coursework. All instruction and services are provided in English only. English language proficiency equivalent to a High School Diploma or high school equivalency diploma is required.
Although SVSTI only offers classes in English, SVSTI will gladly refer potential students to ESL programs offered for free by the County to improve their level of English comprehension. Students must be able to read, write, understand and communicate in English to be successful in these programs. If a student is unable to demonstrate proficiency, may be unable to attend any future classes at SVSTI until demonstration of proficiency can be met. Those students with limited English proficiency may participate in a free English as a Second Language provided by Campbell or Santa Clara County Adult Ed Program.
Silicon Valley Surgi-Tech Institute will take reasonable steps to ensure that persons with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) have meaningful access and an equal opportunity to participate in our services. Applicants with limited (LEP) should be referred to https://www.santaclaraadulted.org/esl/ to take English as a Second language classes and return when they have increased their English skills to PROFESSIONAL WORKING PROFICIENCY (PWP).
EDUCATION DELIVERY OPTIONS
Instruction is delivered onsite and online. SVSTI offers courses in a term format, with sixteen weeks of education included in each term for Surgical Technology, and seven weeks (on-campus) for Sterile Processing Term-based courses may be delivered as:
Onsite
Campus-based instruction includes lectures, applications, laboratories, prep classes and externships.
Hybrid
In hybrid or programs, students meet with faculty face-to-face onsite each week while enrolled in campus-based courses. Online In online courses, contact hours occur when students access courses through the online delivery platform. Online courses also require substantial independent study in addition to online course access. Online courses are structured using a linear, integrated approach. The online learning platform – accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week – offers: Course syllabus and assignments, virtual library and other Web-based resources Email, threaded conversations and chat rooms Text and course materials, available through Canvas, Cengage, and MindTap As a result, students are provided with a comprehensive learning experience that enables them to master course content.
Learning & Online Library Resources
SVSTI offers appropriate learning resources to complement its online courses. Online library resources, multimedia and other course ancillaries can be accessed through the online platform. SVSTI students have access to several online databases on a 24/7 basis.
Minimum System Requirements for Online Study
Sufficient technology and internet access are required to complete online coursework at SVSTI.
Technology Specifications
Because technology changes rapidly in certain fields, students should note that PCs used to complete certain coursework may need to be upgraded during the course of their program. Students are responsible for checking hardware/software requirements before registering for the Surgical Technology Program and/or the Sterile Processing Course.
Refund Statement
Items of extra expense to a student such as instructional supplies or equipment, tools, student activities, laboratory fees, service charges, rentals, credentialing fees, deposits and all other charges need not be considered in tuition refund computations found in the SVSTI Academic Catalog, and website www.svsti.com., and available to all potential students prior to enrollment. All SVSTI Programs shall exclude ANY and ALL additional student expenses from the tuition paid and in accordance with the SVSTI Tuition Refund policy.
