Students entering the Sterile Processing Program need to be available full time for clinical rotation. The more availability you have the easier it is to place you at a medical facility. Most shifts are days (7am-330pm) or evenings (3pm-1130pm). These are approximate times, and it will vary depending on the site. Immunizations are required before SVSTI can even request a site an opening at their facility. So, it is imperative to get your required immunizations ASAP. Please refer to the home page for more information. It consists of 240 hours which is 6 weeks full time. If you choose to extend your externship it must be pre-approved and there is an additional fee of $500.
Students entering the Surgical Technology Program - clinical rotation in ONLY during DAYS. It consists of a 16-week term (not including Holidays) and the student is required to obtain 120 specific cases along with 500 hours. Please refer to the Surgical Technology page for this information.
